The Marching Band is made up of all students within the brass, woodwind, percussion, and color guard sections and performs at most football games, pep rallies, local holiday parades, as well as 2-3 regional band competitions each season. This ensemble is open to all students regardless of musical abilities who sign up for the credited class. The marching band rehearses each day during class and several Super Saturdays during the school year. Band competitions occur on Saturdays in late September through October
Field Show 2011
This year's field show was titled "Mangione Magic," with music composed
by Chuck Mangione and arranged by our very own Jeffrey Edom. It contains
such hits as "Feel So Good," "El Gato de Triste," "Eccano," and "Land
of Make Believe." Our band even took on the challenge of a reverse box
drill in the third movement Eccano, showing mastery of more complicated
drill sets.
Wheels and Circles - Field Show 2010
Wheels and Circles was the theme for the 2010-2011 school year Field Show. The musical score was arranged by our very own Director of Bands, Mr. Jeffrey Edom. The Marching Band performed at our home football games during the half-time show and also competed in several Band Review competitions. At the Del Oro Golden Eagle Spectacular, the LCHS Marching Band placed 2nd in Class AAAA Division for Field Show and placed 3rd in Class AAAA Division for Parade.
Activities
In addition to performing field show and
participating in competitions, the Marching Band also participated in
